Super Day for Katie!
Well, she’d requested donuts for breakfast, but unfortunately I’m in a bit of time crunch so that wasn’t an option this morning.
*really, I went to bed @ midnight and was up before 6 b/c I have too many projects that I’ve committed myself to that are all coming due NOW!!*
Anyhoo—today is Katie’s 7th birthday, and as usual its hard to believe time has gone that fast! I was teasing her last night about how she’s just so mean that she MADE me CRAVE with a capital “C” beef stew the night she was born, but she was so anxious to see me that I wasn’t able to eat any of it! Still love beef stew—never really felt like that before—funny thing about pregnancy cravings and aversions—they stick with you.
Today Jeff signed up for “Watch D.O.G.S” and went to school with Katie. They had a great time! I need to upload pictures I know. For the birthday treat she had requested mini pumpkin pies—no lie! So this afternoon Ryan and I marched into school armed with 28 little pies (make them in muffin tins), forks, napkins, and a full can of whipped cream that I threatened Nathan so he’d stay out of it. I was surprised how well the went over—not a crumb left really.
This is the page I made about Katie from our recent pictures—she just looks so grown up here!
once everyone was home she got to open her presents from us—a new barbie, some new outfits for ken and barbie. not huge—but really her list was over $300, I just can’t do that! Katie chose lasagna for dinner tonight and we had invited Grandma Mary & Grandpa Scott over, but the missionaries showed up at 5 just for a visit—they’re new in our ward so they’re getting to know families. We just kept them for dinner too—it was lots of fun!
We finished off the evening with strawberry cake that K and her friend P really decorated with sprinkles. LOTS of sprinkles.
She said it was a GOOD birthday.

Sounds like a fun birthday. That’s funny about the mini pumpkin pies. I’ve been making them here, too, but I’m the only one who eats them.
